"Random Girl" Zendee Rose Tenerefe, an Internet Sensation

I HAVE once written about Zendee Rose a few months ago, before she became popular in the country with the monicker, Random Girl. She was given such a name because the one who posted a video of her singing in a mall didn't know her and gave the video with the title, "Just a Random Girl."

Taken from her Facebook Account

Zendee is another pride of GenSan, adding to the list composed of Manny Pacquiao, Shamcey Supsup, Gerald Anderson, Melai Cantiveros, Phillip Nadela, Exquizyth Dancers, XB GenSan, and True Colors.

She auditioned to The X-Factor Philippines, but God has other plans for her. She didn't make it to the final 12. But she is just so talented that she couldn't help but share it to the world. She was discovered while singing with friends at a karaoke product display inside a mall. Some took a video of her, uploaded it on YouTube, and in no time, she became an internet sensation.

She was first featured on Yahoo! Philippines and then on GMA-7. She also appeared on the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

This video of her singing, "And I am Telling You" at SM Megamall already has over 1.6 million hits as of this posting.

Her popularity brought her to several TV shows like, Unang Hirit, Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, and Party Pilipinas.

This is the video of her performance on Party Pilipinas, where she belted And I am Telling You, Through the Fire, and I Believe with Kapuso Divas Rachelle Ann Go, Maricris, and Jonalyn Viray.

Since the first time I heard her sing LIVE during the Mr. & Ms. GenSan last year, I knew, she would be a big star. Now, Zendee is on her way from being just a random girl into one of the country's biggest stars!

Jessica Sanchez is still my Idol

THE AMERICAN Idol Season 11 is the most popular reality talent search, at least for Filipinos all over the world. What with 16-year old Jessica Sanchez in the show whose mother has roots in Bataan, the Philippines. Oh, well, more than her Filipino blood, we love her because of her great talent.

Although it was Phillip Phillips who earned the votes of the American viewers, I still believe that Jessica Sanchez has won the world. As they say, it's the Middle America that dictates the vote and that they'd always the cute white guy with a guitar.

Born to Mexican and Filipino parents, Jessica Sanchez has earned the support of Mexican and Filipino communities. It's funny though that Mexicans and Filipinos have been long time boxing championship rivals. This time, they are united to make Jessica Sanchez the American Idol.

During the American Idol Finale, Jessica Sanchez performed the song And I am Telling You with Jennifer Holiday, which sent a wave of goosebumps all over the planet. For that same song, Jessica earned a standing ovation during the Top 4 performance night.

Here's the video:

Congratulations to Phillip Phillips! Job well done, Jessica Sanchez!

Powerful Voices: Jessica Sanchez and Cheesa Laureta

TWO TALENTED Filipinas are in the spotlight today as both fans and critics express their thoughts about these two girls, Jessica Sanchez in American Idol and Cheesa Laureta in The Voice.

Jessica Sanchez got the lowest votes last week by the Idol judges JLo, Randy Jackson, and Steve Tyler used their power to save Jessica. Even Jesse McCartney tweeted that he's voting for Jessica for her unbelievable performance.

Here are the videos of her atest performances:

MEANWHILE, IN another popular talent search in America, The Voice, another full-blooded Filipina, Cheesa Laureta, is catching the world's attention with her powerful performances.

In the blind auditions, where the mentors (Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton), she sang Beyoncé's If I Were a Boy, which started so shaky at first but she picked up and impressed mentor Cee Lo.

Chasing Pavements cover by Seandee (Sean and Zendee)

ADELE SHOULD be very proud to hear people give justice to her songs in their covers just like Zendee and Sean's cover of her song, Chasing Pavements.

Zendee is the winner of GenSan Pop Idol. She first caught my attention during the Mr. And Ms. GenSan pageant, which was the first event I covered as a photographer. She was very good in her numbers and she proved how versatile she is as a performer.

Sean, her boyfriend, is also a very good singer. Chasing Pavements is their first video together. This cover is the best I have ever seen. Here is the video, so you can see how good these two complement each other.

Chasing Pavements Video and Lyrics

I've made up my mind,
No need to think it over,
If i'm wrong I aint right,
No need to look no further,
This ain't lust,
This is love but,

If i tell the world,
I'll never say enough,
Cause it was not said to you,
And thats exactly what i need to do,
If i'm in love with you,

Should i give up,
Or should i just keep chasing pavements?
Even if it leads nowhere,
Or would it be a waste?
Even If i knew my place should i leave it there?
Should i give up,
Or should i just keep chasing pavements?
Even if it leads nowhere

I'd build myself up,
And fly around in circles,
Wait then as my heart drops,
and my back begins to tingle
finally could this be it

Should i give up,
Or should i just keep chasing pavements?
Even if it leads nowhere,
Or would it be a waste?
Even If i knew my place should i leave it there?
Should i give up,
Or should i just keep chasing pavements?
Even if it leads nowhere

Should i give up,
Or should i just keep chasing pavements?
Even if it leads nowhere,
Or would it be a waste?
Even If i knew my place should i leave it there?
Should i give up,
Or should i just keep chasing pavements?
Even if it leads nowhere

Zendee and Sean have great potential in becoming big stars with their amazing talents.

David Archuleta sings Nandito Ako

DAVID ARCHULETA is now joining the Philippine showbiz industry with his upcoming TV series on TV5, Nandito Ako, with Jasmine Curtis.

David Archuleta is well loved by Filipinos ever since he appeared on TV as a contestant on American Idol.

David also sings the theme song, Nandito Ako, for the mini-series on TV5. Hearing the song, you would think it was sung by a Filipino. There isn't any twang when he sings it. Commenters on YouTube say that it is because of David's Hispanic blood that allows his to sing the OPM song like a Filipino.

Nandito Ako is one of my favorite OPM songs. It was popularized by Ogie Alcasid. Lea Salonga also has a version of this beautiful song. A foreigner, David Archuleta, gives justice to this song when he sings it.

I am excited to watch the mini-series, Nandito Ako,  on TV5.

Here is David Archuleta talking about his first day on the set:

Nandito Ako

David Archuleta version

Nandito Ako Lyrics

(Aaron paul del rosario)

Mayroon akong nais malaman
Maaari bang magtanong
Alam mo bang matagal na kitang iniibig
Matagal na 'kong naghihintay

Ngunit mayroon kang ibang minamahal
Kung kaya't ako'y di mo pinapansin
Ngunit ganun pa man nais kong malaman mo
Ang puso kong ito'y para lang sa iyo

Refrain:
Nandito ako umiibig sa iyo
Kahit na nagdurugo ang puso
Kung sakaling iwanan ka niya
Huwag kang mag-alala
May nagmamahal sa iyo
Nandito ako

Kung ako ay iyong iibigin
Di kailangan ang mangamba
Pagka't ako ay para mong alipin
Sa iyo lang wala nang iba

Ngunit mayroon kang ibang minamahal
Kung kaya't ako'y di mo pinapansin
Ngunit ganun pa man nais kong malaman mo
Ang puso kong ito'y para lang sa iyo

Nandito ako umiibig sa iyo
Kahit na nagdurugo ang puso
Kung sakaling iwanan ka niya
Huwag kang mag-alala
May nagmamahal sa iyo
Nandito ako

Nandito ako umiibig sa iyo
Kahit na nagdurugo ang puso
Kung sakaling iwanan ka niya
Huwag kang mag-alala
May nagmamahal sa iyo
Nandito ako

Nandito ako...
