Pinoy Producers win an Oscar

God of Love, a short film produced by Filipino-Americans,Gigi Dement, Stefanie Walmsley, and Stephen Dypiangco won Best Live Action Short  in the Academy Awards 2011.

Gigi hails from Baguio City and is now a filmmaker in New York; Stefanie was once a host of GMA-7's noontime show, Eat Bulaga, and has acted in a few films when she was younger; while Stephen is a son of Filipino immigrants in Los Angeles and has been building a name as an international filmmaker.

Their entry, God of Love, is an 18-minute live action short film written and directed by Luke Matheny that revolves around the lives of a lounge singer, Raymond Goodfellow, who fell in love with his band-mate, whose real love is his best friend. He kept praying for her to love him and his prayers were answered when he was given a box of passion-inducing darts, which gave him the opportunity to play cupid.
